The Data Centre Group was appointed to upgrade legacy data centres for a major banking institution in Farnborough and Corsham, bringing critical infrastructure up to modern data centre standards.
The Data Centre Group completed major upgrades to legacy data centres in Farnborough and Corsham. The scope included extensive Cat6A/FTP copper connectivity, OM4 fibre deployment, cabinet installation, ladder racking, fibre runner systems and more than 12,000 patching connections.

Modernising legacy data centre environments through a fast-track infrastructure upgrade.
The upgrades had to be delivered through a fast-track programme while managing lead times and maintaining compliance with the required programme milestones. The existing legacy environments also demanded design consistency and careful alignment between new cabling and the sites’ power redundancy and cooling strategies.

The Data Centre Group delivered a standardised infrastructure across both data centres, installing nearly 12,000 Cat6A/FTP cross connects, almost 53 kilometres of OM4 fibre and 264 cabinets, alongside new containment and patching infrastructure. The approach balanced speed and consistency while aligning the new infrastructure with the operational requirements of the sites.
